Are you ready for RetailEXPO?
It’s almost time for RetailEXPO – London’s largest retail-centric conference. On May 1st and 2nd the Olympia will come alive with thousands of retail professionals and 150+ speakers on site to network and learn more about industry innovations.
Our team will be there to play their part with a booth full of immersive customer journeys, new technology and experienced staff on hand. PCMS Director of Sales – EMEA Steve Powell shared his event expectations ahead of the show.
“It’s everything under one roof. Thought leaders, new technology and brand case studies all together in one place. RetailEXPO is a great place to listen and learn. We don’t see the show as a sales opportunity, more as a way to engage with the people we already know and those we don’t. We plan to immerse ourselves in every aspect of the show, listening to retailers, contributing to talk about technical innovations and gaining further insight into the underlying trends that affect our marketplace.”
How are UK retailers faring at the moment?
“There’s no denying it is a difficult time, with consumer confidence variable, high overheads for retailers and uncertain economic times ahead. But there are so many fundamental changes underway in technology and consumer behaviour that there are multiple, huge opportunities opening up too. As always with retail, the fundamentals remain important: know your customers, and know how to sell to them. It’s the retailers that are willing to be brave and invest in serving connected customers that will survive and ultimately prosper.”
What are you most looking forward to seeing at the show?
“The organisers have excelled themselves by gathering such an impressive speaker list. It’ll be great to hear what the likes of Justin King CBE (Former CEO – Sainsbury’s) and Andy Murray (Chief Customer Officer – Asda) have to say. Grocery is a big market for us because of our experience with the likes of Waitrose and Marks & Spencer, as well as big grocers abroad. Above all it’s a chance to immerse ourselves in everything from automation to window dressing – the whole range of retail innovation.”
What kind of message will you be sharing about PCMS?
“A very upbeat one. Despite difficult market conditions we’ve had an incredible 18 months; massive new customer wins, new partnerships, new highly-experienced colleagues joining us, a new office and geographic and technology expansion. It’s been a record year for us, but we know our success is solely dependent on what we achieve for our customers; we only win when they win.”
What can visitors to the PCMS stand expect?
“A warm welcome, a cup of coffee, lots of questions and – if they’d like – a brief overview of our VISION Commerce Suite solution – a single commerce platform that joins together every channel and every customer. We’re also available to talk Cloud hosting, personalised offers, managed services, digital services such as mobile scan and go and contact centres. We’re looking forward to some great conversations, and an exciting event.”
